The service comes from eBay's partner Red Pocket Mobile.
If you're not keen on paying full price for your new tech, there's a good chance you do a lot of shopping on eBay. eBay's often the go-to site for picking up new and used smartphones at a fraction of their MSRP, and next time you go to buy one, you'll have the option of adding wireless service with it right then and there.
Thanks to a new partnership with Red Pocket Mobile, eBay now lets customers purchase wireless service with their phone starting at just $5/month for 100 minutes, 100 texts, and 500MB of LTE data.
You can also step up to Red Pocket Mobile's most popular plan for $30/month. This gives you unlimited talk, text, 5GB of LTE data, and international calling to more than 70 countries.
You could just purchase Red Pocket Mobile service (or anything else) after you get your phone delivered from eBay, but by offering it directly during the transaction, the online shopping site is making it easier to kill two birds with one stone.
