Guided from Above

The fact that God has chosen us, has forgiven us, and has given us free access into His presence means that our existence isn’t some cosmic accident, and that our lives are guided neither by chance nor luck, neither by fate nor karma. It means we are guided by His providence.

Republican Senators Introduce Bill to Protect Faith-Based Adoption Agencies

Two Republican senators have introduced a bill to prohibit the federal or state governments from taking any adverse action against adoption or foster-care agencies that decline to provide services that go against their religious beliefs or moral convictions.

Minimum Legal Drinking Age Makes Johnny a Little Safer

What actually works is a form of prohibition. Don’t misunderstand me; I’m not calling for a return to the kind of prohibition before 1933 in the United States. Nevertheless, it goes without saying that all forms of restrictive alcohol measures in state and federal law are an acknowledgement that alcohol is not an ordinary commodity. It poses a significant risk to the public’s health and prohibitive determinations are necessary. This is especially true for those in their formative years.

Episcopal Church Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Female Ordination

The Episcopal Church celebrated the 40th anniversary of the denomination’s ordination of the first women as priests Tuesday. In 1974, 11 women were ordained at the Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

To me, it is a continuing relationship between two individuals who commit their lives (including their sexual lives), their futures, and their fortunes to each other. The two individuals may be of opposite sexes or the same sex. If they have children—natural or adopted—that commitment extends to the children as well.

Update for Sony Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact, and Z Ultra fixes KitKat audio bug







There’s an update available for Sony’s Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact, and Z Ultra that promises to fix a speaker issue that cropped up when the handsets were updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The new firmware build 14.3.A.0.757 corrects the bug that sent audio through the handset speaker (the one you use when using the phone as a phone) instead of the louder external speaker.

Samsung gets up-close and personal in new Galaxy S5 ad






Samsung is boasting “meaningful innovation” in its latest Galaxy S5 TV commercial. The video goes over the device in slow, sexy pans, highlighting the “state-of-the-art camera”, heart rate sensor, IP67 water and dust resistance, 5.1-inch HD display, and dimpled back. The first Galaxy S5 ad aired during the Oscars last month.


We’re not quite sure what the tagline “Real innovation begins when inspired by what matters to you” means, but maybe you guys can offer your take in the comments.
