Samsung has announced the 2016 refresh of the Galaxy A series in India. The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 will go on sale starting February 15, with both models available in gold, black, and white. The Galaxy A5 2016 will retail for ₹29,400 ($433), while the Galaxy A7 2016 will set you back ₹33,400 ($492).
Last year's Galaxy A series featured all-metallic designs, but Samsung is going with a metal chassis and glass back with this year's offerings. The Galaxy A7 2016 offers a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, octa-core Exynos 7580 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD slot, 13MP camera with OIS and an f/1.9 lens, 5MP front camera, LTE Category 6 connectivity, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and a 3300mAh battery with fast charging.
The Galaxy A5 2016 has similar specs, but in a smaller form factor. The phone features a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 2GB of RAM and a 2900mAh battery. Both phones also come with fingerprint sensors embedded in the home button. While the hardware is certainly enticing, both devices run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
We'll be getting our hands on the Galaxy A5 2016 and A7 2016, so stay tuned for extended coverage of Samsung's latest phones.
